Walaupun tidak termasuk kedalam bangsa Army Ants namun serangan serangga Tomcat ini bisa dibilang sangat berbahaya. Racun yang dikeluarkan diyakini lebih ganas dari serangan ular cobra. Cairan yang dikeluarkan dari dalam tubuh makhluk kecil ini adalah cairan hemolimf atau toksin yang disebut sebagai aederin. Gatal hingga nanah bening adalah efek yang akan ditimbulkan jika anda dihinggapi oleh serangga Tomcat

Tempat hidup serangga Tomcat adalah di hutan mangrove dan bukannya di sebuah kota besar layaknya Surabaya.
